The purchase of promotional items is a valuable way to increase visibility to UNT's brand and to promote pride across campus. All products ordered by university departments for internal use must be purchased from licensed vendors but are exempt from licensing fees but still need approval. Your promotional item purchase should be coordinated through our Printing Services department at 940-565-2005 or their website. Printing Services has vendor partners for almost any item you may need and can help ensure the university receives the best price for your purchase and that the items will meet our brand standards.

Approval by URCM required prior to purchase

All promotional items must include the university's lettermark and wordmark and require review and approval in advance by URCM. This is completed through the Purchasing and Payments (PPS) process. PPS will not approve your purchase without URCM review and approval. Contact the Integrated Branding department in URCM at 940-565-2108 for a review or send a PDF and the specifications of your order to brandreview@unt.edu. You will receive response to your request within 24 hours.

University units may not use credit cards for the purchase of advertising specialty items, unless advance permission is provided by URCM and PPS.

Appropriate marks

The standard UNT/University of North Texas lettermark/wordmark combinations are the preferred marks for promotional items. Use of the lettermark alone or the wordmark alone is acceptable for promotional items given the limited space available in many promotional item designs. In addition to our primary marks the spirit marks have been developed especially for use on promotional items.

Student Use

Publications and products such as T-shirts or notepads produced by students for use by their university-recognized organizations are exempt from licensing fees. Items to be sold as fund-raisers are not necessarily exempt. To obtain an exemption contact Rolando Rivas,director of graphic brand management at 940-565-3520 or rolando.rivas@unt.edu.
